Hit And Run Driver Kills 8 Year Old Boy in Brooklyn
An 8-year-old boy was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn as he tried to cross a street with mother and sister. The boy was immediately taken to Brookdale Hospital where doctors tried desperately to save his life. But the 8 year-old boy did not survive and died just minutes after he was brought to the hospital.
The 8-year-old boy and his family were leaving a party in Brooklyn and were crossing the street when a light colored SUV came barreling down the street and struck the boy. The boy was walking a couple steps behind his mother and sister as they crossed the street. The driver never stopped as he ran a red light and struck the boy. After the accident, the hit-and-run driver slowed down briefly after the initial impact of hitting the boy and then took off.
The hit-and-run driver was operating a light-colored Escalade when he went through the red light at Seaview Ave. in Brooklyn and struck the 8 year-old boy, according to an eyewitness.
The boy was in the third grade at a Public School in Brooklyn and is remembered as a fun-loving kid who always had a great big smile on his face by friends and family.
